Épernay’s allée de Cumières campsite, Val-de-Vesle’s riverbank pitches and Bar-sur-Aube’s dedicated aire serve different parts of Champagne. The municipal campsite is a pitch-and-sanitary-block stay; an aire may provide parking, water and waste disposal without campsite showers. A service terminal can be simply a place to refill and empty tanks. Épernay publishes separate details for all three arrangements, so book the facility you actually need.
For an Avenue de Champagne day, start with Épernay. For the eastern side of the Montagne, use Val-de-Vesle and arrange a transfer to a named appointment such as Canard-Duchêne in Ludes. Bar-sur-Aube suits a separate Côte des Bar stay, with producers including Drappier in Urville. These are named outing choices, not an unverified ranking of the nearest producer to each pitch.
Camping municipal d’Épernay: pitches beside the Marne
The municipal campsite is on allée de Cumières, 51200 Épernay. The city lists 109 pitches of 90–110m² and places the site 2km from the town centre. Its published 2026 season ran from 24 April through September inclusive. That seasonal campsite should not be treated as an open Christmas base: the separate avenue Paul-Bert aire is the city’s year-round option. Email camping@ville-epernay.fr or use the municipal booking information.
Épernay’s tourist office lists English and French, electric connections, wastewater disposal, a play area, tennis, volleyball and free Wi-Fi. Its facilities account includes two washing machines and a dryer, plus two adapted sanitary areas. Bread and food are supplied by a private operator, with some services seasonal. The tourist office is at 7 avenue de Champagne; the city places it 1.5km from the campsite. For a named cellar appointment on the western side of town, open walking directions to Jacquinot & Fils, not an invented fixed transfer time.
The city gives reception hours of 07:00–20:00 in April, May and September, and 07:00–21:00 in June, July and August. Vehicle entry uses a coded barrier, while late pedestrian entry uses a coded gate. Épernay lists dogs only when vaccinated and on a lead. Keep the campsite’s access instructions with the house reservation so the return from a town dinner does not depend on reopening the vehicle barrier.

Épernay campsite: read the complete pitch bill
The city’s 2026 worked example for a motorhome and two people is €22.92 per night including tax, or €28.72 with electricity (checked October 2026). Its example for one car, two people and one tent is €21.22, or €27.02 with electricity (checked October 2026). These are the municipality’s stated combinations; a solo camper, child or second vehicle changes the calculation.
The city’s 2026 tariff separates the equipment, occupants, electricity and tourist tax. Its booking advice asks for arrival before 17:00 and recommends email. Specify a tent, caravan or motorhome and whether electricity is required when requesting your allée de Cumières pitch. A campsite reservation does not reserve a cellar visit: Jacquinot, Moët and Boizel each operate their own booking calendar.
Épernay’s year-round aires and service terminal
The avenue Paul-Bert aire has six motorhome spaces and is open every day, 24 hours a day. The city lists a 24-hour package at €20, plus tourist tax of €0.66 per adult per night (checked October 2026). The package includes electricity for 24 hours and a ten-minute water-and-emptying service. Temporary access is €4 for one hour, including 100 litres of water and ten minutes of emptying (checked October 2026). Use the city’s aire page for the entrance and rules.
The municipality warns that the Paul-Bert emptying arrangement is for vehicles with cassettes; full emptying uses the allée de Cumières terminal. That separate terminal is open all year and lists water distribution of 100 litres with emptying for €4 (checked October 2026). A payment at the terminal is a service purchase, not a campsite night. The distinction matters after the municipal campsite’s September closure and when planning the December itinerary.

Onlycamp La Montagne de Reims, Val-de-Vesle
Onlycamp La Montagne de Reims is at 8 Le Routoir, 51360 Val-de-Vesle, also described as Courmelois. Its official 2026 opening period is 27 March–1 November. The site has 50 bare pitches beside the Vesle, with optional electrical connections, hot showers, washing-up facilities and an adapted sanitary area. The operator specifies no campsite Wi-Fi. Its services page lists a chemical-toilet emptying point, pétanque and table tennis; a public play area sits immediately outside the site.
The official 2026 pitch package covers one pitch, one unit and two adults, including hot showers: €12 outside July–August and €17 from 1 July to 31 August (checked October 2026). Electricity is €6 and a dog €3 (checked October 2026). These are the operator’s named package and supplements, not a price for a cabin. Reserve through Onlycamp’s pitch page, selecting the equipment and dates.
The same address offers Lonna canvas-and-wood accommodation for two people, with a double bed upstairs and no private bathroom or kitchenette. See the retrieved Onlycamp property listing on Booking.com; read the actual accommodation description before paying, because a listed rental unit is not automatically a bare motorhome pitch. For a house outing, open directions to Canard-Duchêne in Ludes and arrange a sober driver or transfer.
Chamery: a village service stop in the Montagne
The Épernay tourist office lists a motorhome service and parking area on rue du Château Rouge, 51500 Chamery. Its published equipment comprises water, electricity, wastewater emptying and chemical-toilet emptying, with service terminals. The listed contact is +33 3 26 97 64 69. A 2026 season, fixed overnight tariff and shower block were not established in the reviewed official listing; use the tourist-office entry and local signs for the permitted stay.
Chamery is a wine village, not a central Reims campsite. The same tourist-office record links the Petit Train des Vignobles de Champagne and Champagne Lacuisse as nearby visitor options. If you plan a booked Ludes house visit from Chamery, use the live road route to Canard-Duchêne. No unverified walking distance is substituted for that rural transfer.
Côte des Bar: Bar-sur-Aube and the Dienville gateway
Bar-sur-Aube’s Camping-Car Park aire is on chemin de Mathaut, 10200 Bar-sur-Aube; tourist-office records use the spelling Mathaux. The operator identifies 15 spaces, service access and a location beside a cycle path and tree-lined promenade. Its published location is 48.22853°N, 4.708232°E. The municipal rules require a personal PASS’ÉTAPES access card and require entry and exit scans even when the barrier is open. Use the operator’s current booking page for the stay total; the reviewed tariff displays disagreed, so no fixed overnight sum is repeated here.
For a separate producer day from Bar-sur-Aube, Drappier receives reserved visits at rue des Vignes in Urville. Open the road directions to Drappier before booking your arrival slot. The Côte des Bar’s Bar-sur-Aube and Bar-sur-Seine sectors are distinct bases; a stay at Bar-sur-Aube does not put Devaux’s Bar-sur-Seine Manoir within a verified walk.
Domaine Le Colombier at 8 avenue Jean Lanez, 10500 Dienville is a lakeside-and-river gateway to the wider Aube, outside the vineyard towns. The operator lists electricity, Wi-Fi, heated shared sanitary facilities, a campers’ kitchen and bicycle or kayak hire. Its published season end differs from the tourist-office listing, so request the dates directly through the campsite’s booking page. High-season motorhomes must remain on their pitch after settling in, according to its circulation rules. Booking.com lists the domaine’s rooms and rental accommodation; that listing is not presented as a bare-pitch booking.
French parking and camping rules
French road parking rules still apply to a motorhome. Service Public defines abusive parking as leaving a vehicle in the same public-road location for more than seven days; a municipal order can impose a shorter period. Reserved bays, obstructed entrances, pavements and dangerous stopping places have their own restrictions. A campsite’s permission to stay does not grant permission to park a large vehicle outside a Reims house gate.
For camping outside designated sites, Code de l’urbanisme article R111-32 requires the agreement of the person entitled to use the land, subject to the owner’s objection. Article R111-33 restricts camping in protected places and within 200 metres of drinking-water capture points. Article R111-34 also provides for local prohibitions and their public signage. Read the linked national texts and the commune’s signs; a UNESCO vineyard, forest verge or quiet lane is not an automatic overnight campsite.
Épernay’s allée de Cumières terminal and Paul-Bert aire provide named places for waste and water services. In the Côte des Bar, Bar-sur-Aube’s aire provides the equivalent designated stop. Use those facilities for tanks and cassettes, and leave the vehicle parked before a tasting. The car-free guide and the tour comparison offer alternatives for tasting days; never drink and drive, including a short return to the campsite.
Camping in Champagne: questions
Can I camp in Épernay in December?
The municipal campsite’s published 2026 season ended in September. Avenue Paul-Bert is a separate six-space aire open all year; check its access rules and capacity before planning Habits de Lumière on 11–13 December 2026.
Is Camping La Montagne de Reims in Reims city centre?
No. Its address is 8 Le Routoir, Val-de-Vesle/Courmelois. The operator’s 2026 season is 27 March–1 November; Reims houses such as Canard-Duchêne in Ludes require a separate outing and transport plan.
Can I book a bare pitch through every Booking.com button?
Onlycamp and Domaine Le Colombier have retrieved property listings, but the displayed inventory can be rental tents, rooms or chalets. Select the exact accommodation type; use each campsite’s direct pitch page for a motorhome or touring unit.
Does a service terminal include an overnight stay?
Épernay’s allée de Cumières terminal lists a €4 water-and-emptying service (checked October 2026). Overnight parking is a separate arrangement, such as the avenue Paul-Bert aire or a campsite pitch.
